Pretzel Dogs

This is a healthy alternative to corn dogs.
I followed the very yummy pretzel recipe HERE.
But, instead of shaping them into pretzels, roll out the dough very thin.
Then cut long strips of dough.
Wrap one strip around each hot dog and pinch the ends shut.
Boil 4 cups of water with 2 TB baking soda.
Put each wrapped dog in the boiling water for 15 seconds.
Lay them on a greased cookie sheet. (Parchment paper works the best)
Brush the dough with an egg wash. (1 egg beat with a little water.)
Bake at 450 degrees for 8-10 minutes flipping once.

Delicious served with any kind of mustard.

Tried this recently with whole wheat wraps and it was a HUGE hit with the kids. We stuffed a skinny slice of cheese and some mustard inside, then rolled and baked them. So much healthier than white dough rolls, and cleaner and easier to eat, too! I love it when something gets healthy and the kids RAVE about it over the traditional, no-nutrients version! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to try these!
